Even if you don't claim on the insurance you are supposed to tell your insurer about this since it affects their risk, if you have a later claim and the insurance finds out you have not reported this to them you may find your insurance invalid.

I think Zack doesn't really want to discuss insurance.
Maybe we could find some positive things instead.
C'mon Zack if anyone can rebuild you can

Zack, I don't know if these guys have anything of what you need but they seems to have a DS3 for breaking on eBay. Search for:
        Seller:dewsburyautodismantlers

Strange about the Insurance ?either the excess is megga high or he never declared the mods ??but you are correct they have to be informed

A real bummer though showing cars on forums sometimes is not a good idea

Certainly not an advert for 3rd party only insurance

Truth is DPF deletion isn't insurable as a modification anymore as it's an MOT requirement. Once one of their claim guys look at my car and see it missing they'll void my policy and I'll be worse off than before. I'm in the process of having the DPF gutted out so the housing will be there but it'll still be a straight pipe through it. Unfortunately it wouldn't have been finished before they'd want to inspect it.

Fair play for saying about the insurance.
                  Will the hotel pay anything?
Not many breakers around Northants area...the one at Daventry, that charges more for secondhand parts than new from dealers. Only time to use these guys are if it's the right colour and you cannot get it anywhere else. Think they are called Intapart. They also tell you a price on the phone and when you get there, it's more and they think that because you've travelled, you will suck it up.
There is another called Autospares and Salvage at Raunds, whom I have found to be pretty good in the past.

Didnt think they inspected all vehicles unless its over a certain amount- say £1000
I put a claim in, in 2002, when someone broke into the car and nicked my coat (Leather) briefacse (Yes- had one of them at the time) and some other bits
Window smashed and door lock/ handle wrecked, and they offered me £300, said that werent enough, and settled on £400
The vehicle damage came to about £500 from what i recall and they paid that direct to repairers, and no assessor inspected the car

My C4 after I hit a stationary object at 70mph, the claims bloke looked at it for at 10 seconds, and when I say looked at it he just stared and said "and you walked away from that?".

Yes but was your car scraping the ground with different alloys on ?

We can only assume zack insured all the additions

^ ^ ^ But if the claim was less than £1000, they may well not even have looked

After the hurricane in 1987, house insurance claims had to be above £2000 (in immediate aftermath) before an assessor was sent out cos of so many claims. Before the storm it was £250 from what i recall. Apols for going off post, but trying using a comparison to illustrate a position that Zack could be in.
