Loss of back end

Just totally lost my back end at 25 mph going through a roundabout - No ice, diesel or anything obvious when I stopped and checked tyres etc.
Steering feels generally light but no repeat since.
I have booked car in for a check with dealer but wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

Sure, but only when I overcooked a tight corner. So totally my fault.

The back end on DS3's are known to be jittery at times and can bounce a bit.

I've never had any unexpected issues and I quite enjoy throwing my DS3 around on the twisty roads and coming off roundabouts, perhaps the diesel lump is helping keep the car pointing straight ? Like cyclone the only time I've had a scare it was totally my fault

Yes- mines can be twitchy but never gone yet
In my day to day work, theres a few things in the boot which add a bit of weight, and I have a full size spare
So that helps
When Ive emptied it for track circuits, obvs lighter and feels more like its gonna go, can hear tyres giving, but not gone
What tyres u using PaisleyBob? Obvs some are better than others,,, and those Bridgestones in the wet (Shakes head)
I have spunout in other motors

It can move around a bit under some 'enthusiastic' cornering but I prefer to think of it as adjustable. :P

So all this talk of losing the rear, is this with the ESP turned off.
Just slightly worried if its doing it while its still on. :confused:

I agree with the others. The ds does seem to bounce/skip about at times but have never had the back end come out at that sort of speed. Did you happen to back off the power while exiting the roundabout ? Maybe some lift off oversteer

My friend that owns a astra vxr made a comment about how well the little ds handles the road and if he tried to take that roundabout like i just in the vxr he would be talking to the cows in the field

Yeah I have a very tail happy DS3! I put it down to the crappy tyres that the dealer fitted for free when I bought the car... plus my partners brothers DS3 stepped out on him causing him to crash when he over corrected the slide!

Managed to push the front on a damp roundabout on the oem tyres, wasn't surprised to be honest.

Never had anything like this before my Bilstein Coilies ? And definitely haven't after. Once you properly test the Standard suspension on the DS around a designed track / course at speed then you'll be able to truely appreciate it.

With the coilies I'm planted to the floor xD

You wanna feel the steering over 100mph...can be like its almost as its driving on ice. Move the steering wheel, car dont change direction
Can be scary, especially in the wet. Prompted me to change tyres from my Nangkangs I had at the time
