Although you can't see from this pic, the inside floor of the boot looks pushed in, if so then I'm sure it will be written off, maybe not. I documented the whole incident from annotated video and pictures to a detailed walk through including google images with details like direction of travel, distances, timelines and witness locations/contact details. All those expensive surveillance courses come in handy in civvy street as well. Can't and wouldn't claim for any injury, it would stop me from going back to work.

Poor you, good to hear you're okay. Looks like the van driver wasn't concentrating or was following you far, far too close!

Having worked for a major bodywork network I know that once the back panel is cut off the boot floor is quite easily straightened or sometimes replace. If the leg has got a kink in it then it's repairable but the cost may be to high to economically repair.
          Any SRS systems activated?
If it's written off.....can I have the boot spoiler

there is a picture on here somewhere, black and off white full leather. @ Jamie, nothing apart from the hazards, they came on, on impact and took some twiddling to get off. Was probably made worse as I was on the brakes a bit a I had just come to a stop. If it's a write off then it will be decision time what to go for, I wish they would announce the DS4R .

This doesn't look good, wheel arches pushed in as well.

Hi Superfly- I wish I was closer to be able to offer some more concrete advice! Looks like it has taken a fairly heavy impact, and the write-off calculation might not be a straight decision about the repair, but about hire car charges and other charges. PM me if you need anything more specific, or advice about dealing with your insurance company. As with everyone else, it's good news that you are ok, and at the end of the day, it's only metal!

Thanks Rob, if its written off for whatever reason then so be it, however the annoying thing il probably be overseas when the decision is made one way or the other. Frustrating as the disks are nearly new drilled and grooved ECB with Greenstuff pads, I wonder how long they will hold the car for so if poss I can recover certain items. Also returning metal to a former shape doesn't mean it returns to its former strength.

As for the insurance companies, whilst the bulk of my work is based in hostile environments, I spent most of 2012 working in the UK on surveillance tasks so have completed a considerable number of post incident reports to court submission standard. Once I confirmed the guilty party was medically fit I catalogued the entire scene and submitted a full report to my insurance company. Within the hour the guilty party's insurers had called me stating they would not contest any claim. Hire car arriving this morning and just waiting on when mine will be picked up.

If I have any questions il give you a shout, thanks for offering the help.

No problem, I hope it's all resolved quickly. Your actions after the accident are textbook and the reason why you are not having a problem with the third party insurers.

A former colleague of mine runs a company who specialise in security related courses, whenever im back I always keep my hand in in both UK work and course refreshers, so im pretty up to speed with private investigations and evidence handling.

Nothing like attaching a covert vehicle tracker in the middle of the night to get you focussed .

Cheers Sash, it's in Thurrock and they are picking it up this afternoon. I've scoured the net and can't find anything negative about them (5years ago in another workshop there was a complaint posted online).
