  • Jack And Wheelbrace

Hi everyone. I am relativity new on this site, so if this has come up before I apologies.

I have a DS3 Sport 10 plate which was bought off a dealer who had used it as a demonstrator for 6 months.
Now I know these things no longer have a spare wheel, but a few days after purchase I discovered mine was missing the jack and wheel brace as well.

I rang the dealer and was told that without a spare, why do I need these things. I responded with, 'How do I change brake pads etc.' and was told to take it to a garage !

I kind of accepted this at the time, but as time goes on, I wonder !

So, has yours got a jack and a wheel brace ?

    Hi Welcome to the Club

As far as the Jack and wheel brace goes, I didn't get a spare wheel but I still have a jack and wheel brace with mine so I would say that yours should have one as well

        Welcome to the club

If I remember correctly, you should either have a spare wheel or a goo kit / compressor. I think both come with a jack, wheel brace and towing eye though. Bigfeet will be able to confirm.

I have a 62 plate and i asked the dealer the same question, as when I got the car home I discovered I had neither. He delivered me a compressor, so I think you get either, dependant on whether you have a spare or not.

When I ordered mine back in 2010 we added the spare wheel as an extra. This came with jack.

From the factory the car has either a spare wheel and all the stuff to change that tire OR a compressor and a can of goo without the jack, brace, and the little tool to pull the plastic chrome caps off the lug bolts. As that dealer impolitely phrased it you do not need that if you do not have a spare and need to call the auto club because the flat tire is done for with a cut sidewall or whatever.
You should not be using that cheap ass jack for working on your car. If doing your own car work at home invest in a real jack and some stands; it's easer, safer, and quicker

Thanks guys for your replies. I do have a goo kit and compressor so it seems like I have the correct package.

                    According to Citroen !

I keep saying to myself I should get a spare, especially after picking up a puncture so soon after getting the car but I still haven't done it. I didn't bother using the foam rubbish when I had my puncture.

I just carry a foot pump, if the hole is small enough for the foam to fix then I can pump it up and get it repaired somewhere instead of having to buy a new tyre just because of a puncture!

Not sure about yours but my compressor can output just air too like a normal pump, it'll save you all the legwork.
