Citroen 6 year unlimited warranty on DS range in Australia!

You know you want to buy a new DS3 but the reliability worries are holding you back so Citroen here have bitten a friendly insurer who could well be taken to the cleaners with them I think.

"Sime Darby Motors Wholesale Australia Pty Ltd ACN 116 052 754 t/as CITROËN Automobiles Australia are pleased to provide you with a 6 year unlimited kilometre warranty on all new qualifying CITROËN vehicles. This Warranty only applies to Grand C4 Picasso and the DS line– DS3, DS3 Cabrio, DS4 and DS5 purchased in Australia from 1 March 2014 to 31 May 2014 inclusive."

Hopefully this gets a few more Aussie's into DS3s, only ever seen 3 on the road other than mine.

Sime Darby the new importer need to get their act together to get sales going as with 1100 new Citroens sold in Australia last year you wouldn't expect to see many other DS3's on the road. More likely to see them in the Citroen service centre if my experience is anything to go by and I wonder whether the clever marketing of providing an additional warranty from the importers insurance provider over and above the factory warranty is going to really fix the quality perception if the quality isn't fixed in the first place.

I don't know too many other Citroen owners but the C5 THP150 owner I do know has the same carbonisation issue as I have so this extended warranty could really burn them.
