MOT time

My car is now nearly 3 years old and is due an MOT. My original plan was to hit 60k at 3 years but my pesky employer moved me to a different office so I do less miles.

I'm now at 57k so 3k short of the next service, is it worth getting a service at the same time so anything is captured by the warranty before it runs out?

I've always had a sneaking suspicion that if you have a service at the same time as an MOT there is more chance of passing. Almost as if they are rewarding you for the work!
I'm probably wrong (I usually am!).
