Haha yes, I've had ds3's for 3 years now. Need something different.

Reliable - all diesels and non turbo petrols
    Quick - 110HDi and 120VTi are both 'quick' 0-60 in 8seconds
    Economical - diesels over all...

Resaleability - diesels would be easier to move.

If you like modifications then diesels as they have a turbo.....

But you will need to take it on a trip down the motorway to clear the dpf on the diesels.

I'm having a 120 tomorrow as my courtesy car whilst my e-HDI 115 is in for service. Will be interested to compare! It's the same colour and everything so hopefully I won't put the wrong fuel in at the end of the day!

i'm just about to send back my second 120vti ( i only get them on one year contracts ) & my next one is an hdi90...

the 120vti has only 1/3 the bhp of the car i drove for the 7 years previously but i've enjoyed my 12 plate stormtrooper & my 13 plate blue one.
the one we ordered this week will be in Shark Grey with a black roof which looks nice on the Citroen site. bad news is it only has the 16 inch wheels which i suppose will be better in the local potholes...

on both of my 120's i averaged about 30-32mpg which is twice what i used to get in my S8 so that has seemed fine, i guess the hdi90 will give more.

on the citroen site they quote the 120vti as 9.9 to 60 & the hdi90 as 12.5! looks like my licence will be safe then lol

At first... I got in and couldn't believe how (almost overly) light it felt. It was easy to over-rev to begin with, as with any sudden move from diesel to petrol. In all honesty, I didn't like it on my commute to work (50 miles), but on the way back, I settled and just became a bit more used to it. I wouldn't say it's slow - it held its own on the motorway, despite lacking a 6th gear. Not as punchy as my diesel around town (that diesel torque does come in handy), but perfectly okay, and it certainly grew on me. Took it back today and had to readjust to mine again, though I'm more than happy to have it back. I cracked 720 miles on one tank of fuel last week in my e-HDI, whereas the VTI 120 was only managing about 40mpg and going through the fuel supply like nobody's business in comparison. I'm sure it'd be fine around town though. It's always good to try something else from the DS3 range though, and to see how the others compare. Everybody has different engine/driving preferences! I've now had a go in the 1.6 120, e-HDI 90 and my e-HDI 115. Will be interested to see what the new 1.2 turbo 130bhp is like when it arrives later in the year.

I find my 120 VTi is a bit like an EP3 Civic Type R...you need to wind the revs up before it gets exciting, but by then your in illegal speed territory, although the word exciting may contravene the trades description act on the VTi. I am used to cars with more power and torque and I think I need to learn to drive again as I regularly stall mine and in fact last week I stalled half a dozen times in one day and I've had it 18 months. Get the speed up and the revs in the 4k and above and it barrels along, but throttle response below 3k is disappointing.

I agree with the statement of at first its a little slow but its like a good woman you warm her up nice and slow then she purrs like a kitten once she is going. Overtaking is a problem sometimes but if you take a bit of a run up you will be soaring along.

That made me laugh out loud, reminded me of Swiss Toni - http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/fastshow...iss_toni.shtml

Being in a car crash - Going to the brink of death and back, in a nine car pile-up on a dual carriage-way, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First of all, brace yourself, hold on tight - particularly if it's a rear-ender. Pray you make contact with her twin airbags as soon as possible.

Washing a car - Washing a car, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You've got to caress the bodywork. Breathe softly and gently. And give every inch of it your loving attention. And make sure you've got a nice wet sponge.

Laying a carpet - Laying a carpet is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You check the dimensions, lay her out on the floor, pin her down, walk all over her. If you're adventurous, like me, you might like to try an underlay.

Putting up a tent - Putting up a tent is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You rent her, unzip the door, put up your pole and slip in to the old bag.

Going fishing - Of course, As you know, I'm a very keen fisherman myself. You know, I've often thought that going fishing was very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First of all, clean and inspect your tackle, carefully pull back your rod cover, and remove any dirt or gunge that may have built up whilst not in use. Then, extend your rod to its full length, and check that there are no kinks or any wear. Particularly at the base, where the grip is usually applied. Make sure you've got a decent float, the appropriate bait, and that there's plenty of shot in your bag.

Being in therapy - And yet, having therapy is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You get on the couch, string 'em along with some half-lies and evasions, probe some deep dark holes, and then hand over all your money.

Making coffee - Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman. It's got to be hot. You've got to take your time. You've got to stir gently and firmly. You've got to grind your beans until they squeak. And then you put in the milk.

Checking a second hand car - Checking the details of a second-hand car is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First of all, verify her year of origin. She may look like she rolled off the production line in 1990 but who's to say the fellow before you didn't give her a good spraying?

Hanging wallpaper - Well, hanging wallpaper is also very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Clean all the relevant surfaces, spread her out on the table, cover her with paste, and stick her up. Then you clean your brush, light your pipe, stand back and admire your handiwork.

Buying jewellery - Buying jewellery for a beautiful woman is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman. First you check the size of her ring to make sure it will fit. Then you end up giving her a pearl necklace.

In my opinion the 120VTi is a great little engine! It's a good, old-fashioned little unit that needs to be revved hard to get the best out of, but fortunately it just loves to rev!

Noise at motorway speeds is not a real problem - it's audible when working hard on uphill stretches, but not loud enough to be annoying.

Having drove the vti 120 and thp 155 both are quick but you can tell the difference the vti is quick and punchy but you can feel where the power stops which in the thp it keeps getting quicker

i'm on my second 120vti & i don't think its a particularly revvy engine or an engine that thrives on revs.
if anything for a modern petrol engine it feels quite asthmatic & like it runs out of steam fairly early in the rev range! it's no vtec for example...

Will you get a THP155 next do you think or will you be looking at a new car altogether ?

i get my third one next week or the week after

i have a DS3 as a company car, we get them on one year contracts & this will be number 3 for me. apparently they had no more Dstyle plus models so i'm being demoted to a Dstyle eHdi90 on 16 inch rims
i can't really complain though as it will be better on fuel & a tad more plush over the many potholes we have to suffer nowadays. i really like them, as a small car they're pretty well built & more importantly fit on the mrs drive when i go round there
