Leather is great and the I've never had any issues with the leather covered steering wheel, can't help but feel that steering wheel covers are the province of Halfords bargain bins !!

Look at the shape of a bell, look at a banana, imagine the bell attached to the end of the banana, imagine somebody using a steering wheel cover.

        Or type it into Wiki

That's why it made me chuckle as it was on a US show ha ha ha.
If you want funny, I made one the US Marines I work with drive a right hand drive manual gearbox car on the left side of the road around Camp Leatherneck, was hilarious, we were both crying with laughter.

I'm impressed with an American who can spell "facetious."

                      *Ahem*

Back on track, to be honest there no "must have's" as it all boils down to what you what from the car. Try to remember though that extra do NOT add value to a car when it comes to part exchange.

I would suggest looking that the DSign Plus model, it comes equipped very well and should have most things that you want, bear in mind when you start indulging on the options list you will seriously effect the on road price of the car.

Other option is as you do very little mileage is to look for a used vehicle where someone else has done the spending! Don't be frightened of anything that has been a little busier as you will not be adding that much more to it and you will most likely get a better deal.

I've been looking at Dsign plus, but the black & white interior of the Dsign puts me off and you cannot upgrade to leather in the plus. The standard Dsign doesn't have air con and adding alloys, LED's, leather, etc makes the price equivalent to the plus and Dstyle so other than insurance there's no reason to go for the Dsign (for me).

Although I like the colours etc of the Benefit, it also has a lot of extras compared to the standard Dsign. Plus the seats are all black (big bonus).

I'm going to talk to the deals tonight - I'm thinking of asking if any of the extras can be added as an after market thing (we ordered our last car as standard to get it quicker and had the leather done by the dealer, but 'after market'). If it can I'll probably order a DS3 tonight

I consider the spare wheel an essential "extra" - there are too many potential problems which a can of slime isn't going to solve.

For me, power folding door mirrors were also a near-essential as our garage door is very narrow.

As for the rest, so much stuff comes as standard that it's more a matter of personal taste than any real need.

If it came to either changing the tyre or calling breakdown - I'd call breakdown. I can do fuses, jump start, etc but I wouldn't risk a tyre! I'd drive away without fastening it on or something silly.

I ordered my car!!! I'm collecting a Dsign by Benefit on Sunday I didn't have a choice of extras but I can add anything I need later. I'll probably get mud flaps/guards (what's a DS3 like off road?). I think heated seats would be nice, but it depends how good they are!

Spare tyre would be the most sensible addition, the goo is useless in most puncture situations
