  • Cam belt

Hi I have a 1.6 air dream diesel with a mileage of 102000 miles on a 61 plate. Can anyone tell me when I need a cam belt change?:ds3:

Off the top of my head I recall reading either 10 years or 140,000 miles, whichever comes first but I can't double check as the handbook is in the car at the moment....

If it's been serviced by Citroen dealers I'd have thought they would tell you when it was due

It might not be right mate I just looked online and found a lease car site saying that mileage as well but now I'm doubting myself, normally 100k miles is the norm isn't it ?

Tbh 100k is an awful lot. I'd prefer to stick to 72k/5 years rule. No harm in doing it early IMO

Ok, I just looked at the Maintenance and Warranty Guide in the handbook folder (I know, get me ) and on P15 it states that the timing belts should be changed on all engines at 10 years or 110,000 or 112,500 miles !!

So there you have it, straight from Citroen Anyone not clear on that ???

Diesel is a belt and THP is a chain, I remember reading about the timing chain slippages etc on Monkeynuts THP
