STOLEN DS3!! Please help us find our beloved car.

Apologies for the late (very late) update... getting married and new jobs got in the way!

The Met got in contact a couple of months back... found the car in LEEDS.

Never got it back though, ended up buying a 2.0 CDTI Astra Canny car, but miss the little Beast.

Didn't help having another claim either, losing my NCB again for someone else's incompetence.

Oh well... trying to talk the wife into us getting a new DS3, she doesn't like driving the Astra anyway!

Hopefully we'll have some new photos to add in the coming months, I like the new wheels (with the black and alloy) and facelifted headlights.

And i think it would look really nice in all black with black roof, and dark tinted privacy glass.

Here's to the future... best get those DS3 Club stickers ordered! :cool:

This is a daft question, how do they steal a modern car without the keys ? Thought nowadays cars are pretty much unstealable. I could be wrong!

Insurance paid it off... treated it as write off.

Technically I reckon they would have replaced it but we'd already bought a new car... its pretty difficult living without a car in my job.

I know.. but i remember reading in the news a few years back that B'mers and Mercs were getting stolen a lot, something to do with keyless entry etc. i guess anythings possible these days

It's done via the diagnostic port. They put the window in, plug something into it and reprogramme a key. Or in the case of keyless entry/start cars, tricking the ECU into thinking the key is present. A lot of Focus RSs are being nicked via this way now around my area.

I dunno, she was lovely, but the thought of those horrible people driving her about kinda puts me off.

You'd be surprised what can be done. Currently have a 2011 BMW in addition to the DS3 and there's quite a lot of 2012 and 2013 info around about an exploit which can be applied via BMW's OBDII port allowing the car to be started without keys. Thankfully BMW addressed this and on my 2013 service and a 'Security Patch' / 'Update' was applied.

Would be interesting to hear from the more technical DS3 'Experts' if there's anything out there about DS3s?
