Mini best for space, that's just journalistic snobbery. The DS3s glove box is bigger than the boot on a Mini.

Apparently the new Mini boot is bigger than ever, also more rear legroom etc but as mentioned still only two seats. Most mini owners wouldn't be concerned about the boot space though. I've had two minis and it was never an issue for me, got luggage and all sorts in the back of mine if you need it to fit, you make it fit!

My first Mini was a Cooper S GP which had no back seats and loads of boot space. I've found that the back seats in the other mini hatches I've has are useless so had a clubman then replaced that with the DS3

Bigger than ever doesn't mean big, though! Ha! Also, as someone that isn't the tallest, I've always struggled in the back of a MINI for legroom, and as you say, there's just 2 seats. Fine for people who never carry more people but I just find 4 seats more restricting than 5.

Agreed on your final sentiments; I had an Aygo before my DS3 and always managed to be inventive with the space on offer!

Can't believe you owned a GP - always loved them the clubman not so much but if you want mini looks with extra practicality it's worth a look.

How are you finding the DS3 compared to your Minis?

Very true! I struggle in the back of a Mini, and the DS3 hasn't got much legroom but it feels less of a squeeze.. Not an issue for me though as I drive them, plenty of room in drivers seat of both I agree there has been an instance or two where I need to move five people, and haven't been able to do so in the mini! Normally just myself and a front passenger in the car nowadays though.

It's true, you have to make the most of what you have whatever the car! I've had four alloys in the rear of my mini, tumble dryer with the seats down! £100 worth of food shopping and three passengers, albeit with a bit of a squeeze lol.

It's a bit of a softer drive but really decent. Nothing I've had comes close to the GP except it had loads of problems (clutch, cooling leaks etc.)
