  • DS3R Modifications

Hi Guys! First time posting on here so need some advice really!

Bought a DS3 Racing 3 months ago, within having it for 2 weeks, number 3 piston failed and had to do a full rebuild with new piston etc. Since then engine has been fine with no hiccups, so I am looking to start tuning it!

I already have a Scorpion Exhaust fitted, and blow off valve, just looking for additional mods to try and get the most BHP as possible!

Any advice would be great! Thanks

Pull the engine back apart and replace the shit pistons and rods with good forged aftermarket ones.

x2 on what cyclone has put but you can always look into an upgraded intercooler, maybe go full exhaust system with hi-flow cat or decat (whatever you prefer) and a decent remap.

How much do you want to spend?

Just an example what you can get out of the 1,6 THP

DS³R Speedometer // 19" OEM Cairns // KW V3 Coilovers

As Cyclone has mentioned, plenty of posts around the web on Racing broken pistons.

Yeah I think I definately will replace the pistons with some decent ones haha.

Cost wise Shiro, I don't mind at all. I like the look of them Remaps on Vone Racing, but is there any in the UK that do more than Stage 1?

Intercooler was definately on my radar to do, with the remap and induction kit, but not sure if there was anything else?

An induction kit wont get you anymore BHP. Better off going for the remap and a less restrictive exhaust.

                  Jamies what Hyperkev?

And i thought an induction kit does increase BHP on the DS3 because the stock air box is so restrictive?

From what has been posted on here, the turbo on the DS3 is not held back by the airflow. One induction kit manufacturer has stated on here that there is no noticeable increase in performance.

Jamie is definitely the man to speak to about remaps etc (once you've forged the engine)

Forging the engine is going to be a big bill! Do you recommend getting that done first then? And I don't even know where to look for the parts?

Derby isn't too far from Jamie's place, worth a trip down for a chat, he will steer you in the right direction.
