    Potentail new DS3-R owner

    Evening everyone, I am in the process of buying a DS3-R and whilst browsing the web last night came across this very insightful forum. Having trawled through lots of useful info (thank y'all) I noticed that I am about to purchase a car owned by a member of this forum who had issues with it previously. I have messaged him and I am hoping I get a response before I spend several grand on the car!

    Fingers crossed the car is spot on and I an can indulge in some of the enthusiasm you guys share for your cars.

    Hope you have a warranty or have already budgeted to the needed upgrades.

        I have gone for a 24 month mechanical and breakdown guarantee. Fingers crossed it turns out to be as good as it looks and felt on the test drive!

          The bits that have been anecdotally troublesome may already have been replaced. Have you checked the cars history?

            Finally collected the car. It's Alex's old motor. No paperwork with the car only the service history. From searching these forums I know the car had a new engine @ 16k but not sure on anything else. But I shall be having the valves checked fairly soon to see if there is any need for them to be sorted.

            Overall the car is running sweet so far, although I've not give it much yet hopefully that'll be this weekend.

              Congratz on your new car and welcome to the club !

              Personally I'd suggest you upgrade engine internals if you are planning on keeping her for longer... You will even drive if more freely that way, as I was super cautious with mine after reading about the issues and it still broke...

                Hello mate, been a while since I taken a look at the site. Glad my old motor found a new home, enjoy.
