  • DS3 Racing Cabrio

Hi, this is my first post so hello!

We are potentially looking at buying a DS3 Racing Cabrio as there are a couple for sale at the moment. Can anyone tell me if the engines in these later Racings have had the problems sorted out?

We currently have a 2012 Mini Roadster Cooper S which has the same basic engine, we haven't had any problems (touch wood!) with the cam chain tensioner or coking up in over 33k miles.

Any advice would be much appreciated as we don't want to make an expensive mistake.

    Hello!!

Sorry for the delay - we've all been swept up in the new launch DS 3.

I believe the Racing Cabrio are the better engines, but with so few on the roads there hasn't been much feedback about them that I can refer to. Only 100 made and 10 in the UK

It is however a gorgeous car. Adam (THP) and I went to see one at Sale, and took lots of pics!

In paper the stats are the same as the Racing, but I'm not sure what upgrades and changes are going on under the bonnet.

I'll have a look on here and I'm sure others will be along to help

Loved the paint job on it. We were lucky to even see one, let alone own one!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. It's going to be a difficult decision as to what we go for. We're going on Saturday to look at the Abarth 595c 180. I'm not ruling out the Citroen just yet but the horror stories are a bit off putting. I know the car would be covered by warranty but any potential faults 'could' be a pain especially as a lot of our annual mileage is done abroad.

Citroen vs Fiat.. =/ I know which one I'd prefer.

Let us know what you do decide so we can be sure whether to give you a wave or a different gesture depending on what you're on the road in

Hello again! Well I'm sorry to say that we took an Abarth 180 out on Saturday and have now put a deposit down on the cabrio version. It's absolutely mental to drive and sounds really good with the Monza exhaust. So if you see one driving around Dorset in a couple of months then give us a wave of some description

Thanks again to the replies in this thread and sorry we didn't go for the Citroen.

Pics when you get it, I think the Abarth 500s looks pretty sweet

If I were female I'd think the Abarth 500 was great too....

I really like the abarth 500 (despite everyone I know making fun of me every time I mention it). But the interior is what would hold me back from ever owning one.

Strangely enough feel the same way about a Mini.

Yes, those interiors aren't my thing either. It sort of has the same style going on. It's all a bit too cute and childish.

How about this Romeo Ferraris 595 I saw a while back? At nearly £45k new, it makes a Racing Cabrio look like a Perodua.
