  • Forte Products - Help with the de-coking problem?

    Hi,

I've been advised by citroen that Forte Products may be able to help the coking problem?

What did they say exactly ? I thought most of the dealers claimed to be unaware of the coking problem ?

Dealer official reply was... Head off, special tool for valves.

      £600

When I told them the Warranty company weren't paying he said try stuffing 2 bottles of this into half a tank - Never know!

Apparently the hydraulic clutch causes problems as well - fair few early burn out clutches

      Warranty? Naahhhhh

Jamie at SP Tuning (DS3 owning forum member) does walnut blasting cleaning of engines - might be worth talking through your options with him

throwing anything in the tank for the valves coking up is throwing money away. The fuel and any additive you put in never pass by the valves. Direct injection engine fuel is squirted directly into the cylinder.

Walnut blast, only cost-effective way to deal with carbonisation.
Fuel additives may help with whatever they make contact with but as Cyclone has said, that aint gonna be no valves.

Hi, I just wondered if there was an official name for the process that citroen are now recommending to owners to have the valves etc cleaned- I don't think it is on Official Citroen recall or anything yet?
