I think I'm just going to see how it goes. If i get any symptoms of it breaking it will be going straight away as I don't want to spend any more on the engine!!

Hey mate, i'm thinking the same as you in this case.

So i took my Racing down to citroen because i've had to fill it up with oil twice in the past 2 months. The car is outside of warranty and citroen quoted me something north of £2500 to even have a look at where it might be burning oil. They said the only places it could be burning oil is through the pistons. Even after that inspection they said it could be double that to fix the issue as i may need new pistons etc. Obviously this has had me panicking because i still have finance on the car and i can't afford to pay half the price outright just to get it to bloody work. At the moment though the car runs perfect, no mechanical faults whatsoever, drives a dream. If anything i'm now playing the waiting game with it..

Bottom line, if your doing research on new pistons, can you let me know which ones you end up going for? i need as many options as i can get.

Hey, my car used to use a lot of oil, filling up every couple of weeks but now it's stopped using the oil as much and haven't had to fill it up in 3 months so don't know what's changed? I'm the same as you, car drives beautiful with no issues. Had a slight misfire when I boosted it but that was down to the coils. Changed them 3 weeks ago and no issues ever since!

If it does end up going boom then I will probably go for the Wossner pistons, but hopefully it won't come down to that

Ask a Garage who is specialized on motor repair. Because 2500 for changing the pistons is too much...

Think someone on here went for the Mahle pistons, about £1000.

If you are lucky, could get them fitted for £800 ish. However,no point in skimping if you want to keep the car a while.
              Get the piston rods too

But why buy Mahle ones for 1000 when you can get Woessner ones for 740? Even the Woessner ones are way stronger than the OEM ones (PS: The OEM ones are from Mahle...)
