I'd be wary of cat D, the racings are temperamental as it is. Make sure they offer a very good warranty period for that

As it's a Cat D , what was the damage that it was written off for and how many engines it's had etc!!!

Well it's a CAT D then the car was either stolen or involved in a bump which was more than the value of the car, being a DS3R it could be either. If it was involved in an accident then you need to see the paperwork confirming that the car is cleared for use on the road.

As for warranty your dealer will be able to provide that information.

Errrrrrm I'd steer clear. If I was gonna buy any DS3R I would go for approved Citroen. If I was buying any other Cat D car, I'd want it from a reputable car dealership.

Why is this person selling it? Was it Cat D before they bought it? Did they crash it themselves? How many miles has it done since repair?

                          How cheap is this car?

I would pay out for a full inspection of the car to double check things, be on the safe side. Also don't forget to dial in extra insurance costs, most major companies will not insure a CAT D car so do some homework.

The car also had the reg plate ds03gts and ve11hpk

Thanks for the advice but I've been buying car for 30 years and I've seen most of the pit falls

If you only want to track it then go for it! But if you wanted to daily it too then I'd try go for one from a Citroen dealer. An approved one on Autotrader for £14k
