  • Buy or not buy used DS3-R

Looking at buying a used DS3-R, but have been reading some horror stories about the engine?
The car i'm looking at is 2012 model, It has 50 miles on it and had a brand new engine from warranty in 2015.
Has these replacement engines been improved over the old ones? Or can i expect running into the same problems again?

If the warranty is valid for three years and you don't intend on keeping it longer than that, I'd say do it.

The warranty runs out this year for the car, Not sure if if there is extended warranty on new engine. I do intend to keep the car for longer than 3 years.
Is the replacement engines more reliable?

        Typically it's the same engine.

at least go into it with your eyes open

depends on initial cost, budget you have for mods, daily or weekend (Will you rely on it) etc etc

I travel several hundred miles away from home couple times amonth, and it would concern me if a car wasnt %100 reliable

          50{50 for me

I mean if it costs peanuts.............

Haha....yes I should of added to my comment "touch wood"
Must admit I love taking her out for a spin round the town, reminds me of my boy racer days back in the 80's. Echos of the exhaust burbling and popping and the glossy black bright orange paintwork, people do stop and stare. It's a real attention seeker for sure.
I'm taking it down to the local quarry for little photo shoot as soon as we get a break in the weather.
