Uprated engine in the later models, 155THP was the one just after. I seem to recall a racing owner on here having his replaced with a 155 but I may be mistaken.

Up for debate whether the issues have been resolved.

As an owner of a 150THP that blew a couple of times I would personally advise against the purchase of a DS3R.

The history of the THP's is:

      THP 150
      Racing 207HP (150THP Engine)

      THP155

      THP165

THP210 (not sure if this is based in the 165 like the 150/Racing was)

Over the 6 years, the engine has got better

True They are great cars and great engines when/while they work. But it's just something that will always be on your mind, even when it's working fine.

Some extra info on the car:

One owner, Full Citroen history, brakes have been sorted......just the warranty issue is a killer. What have you guys done when your 3 year Citroen cover has ended......3rd party? any good ones around??

I also have the last dealer who serviced and looked after the car so I will call them. Have many had trouble free motoring with the THP 150 engine....

                Thanks

Certainly, of all the tens of thousands of THP 150 engines out there, there's probably only a few hundred had catastrophic failure. If it was a much higher proportion, Citroen would be hugely out of pocket.

Remember, we only hear about those who have had problems. Nobody comes to a forum to say "I have this engine and it is working splendiferously!!", they come with problems to resolve. The car will be a gamble, but your low mileage will help. Just be wary if you will depend on it for say commuting which is not doable by other means should something go wrong.

It is about half the same as the post-2007ish Cooper S engine, shares a lot of parts but the Mini has BMW parts too and is built by Germans instead of the French. You get the build quality you'd expect from them.

Also mostly the same engine as the 207/208 GTi, but again slightly different build and parts, although still French.

                      Warranty people, please come forward!

Ask them to bump it up to 16k/1yr with a courtesy car in the event the car is in for work and providing the price is right that might be a good deal.
