So how do you check this?

According to handbook, 5FF8 is 204 hp (149kW), 5FD8 is 207 hp (152kW), was wondering if prob was with one not other, but you've just proved that wrong!!

You will need an OBD tool first (Bluetooth one if you gonna use your phone and USB one if you are going to use your laptop)

You will then need software like Torque Pro or Laplogger (Works on phones like Iphone, Android, or BB) or OBD2spy or EasyOBD2 for your laptop.

Once connected to your car and it is monitoring, you will see the long term fuel trims, Deviation should never go more than +10 or -10. -10 means your car is running leaner and +10 means your car is running richer.

Cars with values of -13 to -17 (Which occurs when the timing slips on these engines) will start feeling the power loss and limp mode.

This is a way to check if your timing is out! Our Peugeots share the same engines and have had this issue since 2007

Have a look at this link...
