Rattle

Alright guys I've still got this rattle on my car it sounds like tapets but once i unplug the vanos solenoid or any other sensor it stops any idea's it's going in Tuesday

Ds3 thp's don't have tappets. I know the sound all to well. My C2 has the rattle of death. Even replaced them but the noise is still there. Going off topic here... Might be the chain caused by a bad tensioner?

I know but that's what it sounds like unless it's the oil pump maybe I don't know it's had a new chain guide rails and tensioner o week ago and it's still there

It's hard to check the oil pump, and you can't trust the warning light. The light only goes on when the pressure is lower than 0.5 bars. If this happens the engine is already half destroyed... You could get a meter and screw in into the pressure sensor hole to check the real pressure, thats what i did on my c2. Maybe a bearing that has had it's time?

The light was on due to timing being out thats about it.don't know honestly but its driving me mad i just hope it's not the bottom end bearings witch I think it is.sounds if it's coming from the back of inlet manifold but I've had it out over the weekend and can't find anything out of place so either bearings or a bent rod I'm going by it's going to Peugeot tomorrow to get checked as Citroen won't look at it!!

I don't know why but I've one massive argument with them because of this I know they did yet again peouget were great when I spoke to them

I do as it's the only one around were i live and love driving it they won't tell me why and I've one big argument with them over it

You're not the first to get into an argument with citroen. They destoyed my ecu by trying to upgrade it. They even billed me for their ignorance. Had to pay up, not the first time i've been robbed. But just doesn't feel right to pay for work that hasn't been carried out or worse, for work that left you with a broken vehicle... Thanks Citroen Veurne, only 5 km from the sea and 5km from the french border somewhere in belgium. Shouldn't mention the name, right?
