Hi fellow DS3 lovers,
We are back! After almost a year of absence here, and in the streets we both are back, and how we've missed you guys!
I'll start with the 'story' of why we were absent and continue with all the good stuff after that. Almost a year ago, my was at around 55,000km and I was planning to do some more mods... So I've decided to do the full maintenance before pushing for more power. I cleaned the valves, changed the oil and since it was past 50k and was making the rattle noise in the morning, decided to change the timing too...
And that's were it all started, the person I used to borrow the tools from for some unknown reasons decided he didn't want to share them anymore. So I decided to just sent it to the dealer for the chain, bad move! Went to the dealer and asked if they could do that, spoke first hand with the menager and the main mechanic, explaining them that this car is 'precocious' for me, and they cant screw up, and if they now they can't, I asked if they could talk with the dealer in the country nearby and ask if they can... They insisted they can do it, and that they would be fully responsible for even the smallest damage.
6 hours later the car is ready and with the new chain! The main mechanic asked me if he could get it for a drive, and do a test drive together. Turned the car on, sounded good, got on the passager seat and went for a drive with him, as soon as we get out of the garage, he starts wot-in 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear (smiling and telling me this thing is f'''' fast), 4th gear and the engine shut down!!!
He looked at me and said 'I think we blew a pipe off', I smiled and said 'I really don't think so'! While he was searching for the blown pipe, I opened the oil cap and saw the rollers all over the place, looked down on engine, the Crankshaft Bolt was totally out!!!
Went back to the garage, and they offered me to rebuild it with their oem parts, which ofc I refused and after some debate we made an agreement that I would rebuild it my own way and with the aftermarket parts I had, and they would not touch my engine![Smile](https://forum.ds3club.co.uk/core/images/smilies/smile.png)
Got the engine out, took it home dissembled it and looked at the damage, Valves have kissed the Pistons, but cylinder walls were not damaged, only the 1st one with a very light scratch.

Now comes the good stuff... found a really great mechanic in a country not far from mine, he's called Toni and he's the mechanic of Igor Stefanovski (European Hill Climb Champion), according to his reputation he's the best around here, and he happened to be a great guy too. He had a JCW him self and was very happy to help with the build of my engine. We discussed parts and clearances that would best suit my goals. I ordered the parts, and took the head home to port and polish while waiting for them to come. Meanwhile Toni took the engine block to Greece for rebore, and make a crosshatch that he prefers to use with Wossner Rings as they are a bit too hard.
I will try to explain my new setup in short, and add later to keep this post not too long....
