I've found a nail in one of my Bridgestone Potenza tyres and have been told it can't be fixed/needs replacing.
So I did the usual, calling garages in the area to get the best price - except noone stocks the Bridgestones or any other tyre in 215/40/18 size (well not unless I want to wait 2 weeks).
I called my local Citroen dealer and they don't supply the tyres either and can't get hold of one from somewhere else.
My local trusted garage (where I always have tyres fixed) has told me that they couldn't change it even if I did get a replacement as it is reverse mounted onto the rim. In 20 years of driving I've never come across a reverse mounted tyre! And it seems that only a few specialist garages can refit them.
It's taken me about a week but I've managed to track one specialist down who is willing to replace the tyre but it's over an hour and a half to get there, and they can only get me a Continental Sport Contact 2 tyre for £200.
I'm a bit OCD and don't like odd tyres so wondered if anyone knew where I could get a replacement Bridgestone from?
And if you know of any reverse mount specialists nearer to Somerset?
God only knows what I'd have done if it had punctured on the motorway on the way to work and I'd had to call the breakdown company! It didn't mention this hassle in the brochure lol
Cheers
