Software Update

Had to take my car into the dealers as it went into "limp" mode a few days ago, whilst plugged in to diagnostics, it said there was a software update! Took about 20 mins to download.

Anyone any idea what the update does?

If it's the most recent update it's to stop the false illumination of the engine warning light..

What'd they diagnose the cause of the issue as?

Standard THP issue then.

Are they doing anything to rectify the issue or just leaving you to see how you get on with it?

After all my probs last year I am a bit worried, had same issues as stef but Citroen refused my rejection of the car as they said it was ok! Have to say since then it hasn't hesitated!

This time could be due to me almost running out of fuel! So see how it goes......

I doubt "almost running out of fuel" should be causing a misfire on 2 cylinders..

Might be worth going down the route Stef did - Return the car, ask them to write you a letter to confirm they're 100% happy with the "remedy" they have provided and that no further issues should arise.

If/when they do occur again you have a fairly sturdy leg to stand on.

When the car was plugged in for diagnostics, this would have given an error code, it wouldn't have just advised that an update needed to be applied.

Probably worthwhile finding what this error code was.

Super Knock.. Same as what mine had before the engine was replaced.

See the above, ask them what they have done to fix it and they say nothing - Take it back for them to fix.

Did yours just happen once? Or was it ongoing?

Couple of knocks around the 16k mark and then on the drive home from work one day I went into limp mode, pulled into the side of the road got recovered and then left with a C1 Courtesy car for a month whilst they fully replaced the engine.
