Adjusting the rod only changes the spool rate, not actual boost pressure, all your doing is creating boost spikes, not good for your turbo!
Boost is set as a target value in several maps. Once target is achieved the actuator is backed off.

Sorry No it does not it. You either gave yourself less boost by making the wastgate not fully close when it should be or are making it bind up by adjusting the rod to short, you can't get more closed than closed.

Cyclone, you may have worked on Helicopter engines but this is not a Helicopter. This is a finely tuned piece of French / German collaborative engineering.
