  • Getting the Chrome bits wrapped.

    Afternoon !

I'm seriously toying with the idea of getting the chrome on my storm trooper wrapped or sprayed black, is I've already got a black rear badge and don't think white & chrome is a good mix.

Has anyone had this done ? I've contacted a couple.of companies in Sheffield and am just awaiting their quotes, what would you expect to pay ?

    Cheers ...

Black plastidipped my baguettes, front grill and trim, doorhandles, rear badge and number plate stuff, most of it really.
Looks good even if a i say so myself
Cost about £30 and 8 hrs labour over a few weekends

    Go for it

I had mine done. Baguettes, door handles, fog light surrounds and strip above number plate in red, fly eyes on lights and fogs, and wing mirror stalks in matte black to match rest of mirrors. Cost me £140 for the lot at a place in suffolk.

Just been quoted £140 which isn't bad, prefer the sound of £30 though Chris, is it easy to do ?

Spraying it is dead easy- the time consuming bit is masking it all off. Difficult- not at all.

1 hour masking- 2 minutes spraying.

Just a bit of patience, several rolls of 1 inch masking tape, and away you go +a sunny day
Oh- and a bottle of Autoglym Tar and adhesive remover to wipe up oversparay

No clear coat needed, so you can just peel off the plastidip if you dont like

Ed- wipe down with methylated spirit first

Im thinking of getting mine done, not all the chrome, back end and wing mirrors would stay the same so just the grill and sides.

Nice, does it come off easily (the chrome grill and surround).

I don't know why anyone would spend so much money on a wrap to have the same black mirrors a standard DS3 has. Just my personal opinion but the chrome looks so much better. Go for something like DS3norwich's mirrors? They look really cool

I meant is the chrome surround easy to remove.

@ BigChris, I have chrome door mirrors already if that was aimed at me.

I didn't remove it you basically mask of the area and spend a hour or so layering the plasti dip bud
