  • Dump Valve on a diesel?

Is it pointless to put a dump valve (BOV) on a diesel?
From what I understand there isn't the same pressure issues on the diesel so the turbo won't stall?

    Any advice appreciated.

Diesel's and Petrol engines work in different ways, unless you're running a stupid amount of boost there's no need for one, you'll probably have a difficult job finding an electronic dump valve for the DS3 also.

Doesnt the ds3 already use an electronic dump valve?

Putting a big dump valve will make you lose boost
DS3's are like pizza..they're good even when they're bad..

You can't do it. Not without alot of pointless effort anyway. If you want it just for the noise to be 'cool' then go sit in the corner and have a quiet word with yourself.

Ok, was just wondering. Fitted them to two previous cars, both Petrol though. Definitely helps to keep the turbo spinning on quick changes and low rev pickup (in my experience).
I kinda guessed that on a diesel it would be different.

Also if you want to avoid the noise get a recirculation valve, not so embarrassing.

So what's the cheap / easiest ways to get more out of the 1.6 diesel 110? Or is it bigger turbo / remapping?
