A friend of me has a ds3 thp, he only had an ecu remap from a company called revo about two years ago. The ecu remap gave 192bhp nothing else was changed/modified in the car. The guy that owns the car is a sensible driver, always waiting for the engine to warm up before doing any hard acceleration, also waiting the turbo to cool down after long journeys. The only issue with his car was the inlet hose of the turbo, it was frequently torn apart , so the guys from revo company installed a racing type turbo hose, this cured the problem, however about a month ago the car started losing power all of a sudden and the 'check engine' light was coming on. Diagnostics showed that the turbo sensor was giving the check engine, however after inspecting the car at citroen dealership they noticed that the valve inside the turbo was broken and they couldn't change it because citroen is not selling this part alone, it comes complete with the turbo, estimating a price of 2,500 euros to fix it, but also they insisted to remove the ecu remap because the turbo was taking too much pressure and that was the cause of the problem. The car has around 65,000km.
I wanted to ask if any other thp owner had any similar problem? Could it be a case of a badly done ecu remap? if they had installed a forge dv valve and upgraded turbo hoses was the car going to be ok? or its just the turbo too small to hande 192bhp?
If I am going to have an ecu remap for my car as well I don't want to end up in the same situation.
