  • First mod ideas?!?

I've recently just upgraded my car from a rubbish banger of a Micra to a ds3 1.6THP so I really fancy spending some money on it!

Can anyone recommend the best starting point as I'm clueless!

Air filter- Pipercross of KN Panel filter

Then Coilovers, sports cat converter, 63mm turbo back exhaust and a big fat remap

      Just ordered a pipercross filter

With the remaps can the car's gearbox handle the extra power? Or could it damage the engine?

      Thanks for the advice

1st mod ? Take it back and get a HDi

Seriously would look at remapping / pvc delete first

There's a great feature on this forum called 'search'. Use it...

Me being a THP owner- dont delete either PCV... put a catch can on the front, first.
Can handle up to 200bhp .. and more with a few other mods

If you get a remap, you can say how much boost pressure you want. Therefore it can handle what you want it to

Ed- Would probly upgrade the pistons if above 210bhp

I did have a choice with getting a HDi but I don't do loads of miles for it to be worth while.

I'm looking into remapping now as I haven't really done anything like this before so I didn't want to ruin my car

Just been looking at a forge catch can which looks pretty good and I've heard that it's a decent make so I might save up and get one next and then get a remap.

There are far far cheaper alternatives to the forge one, and by all accounts they are as effective.

This is what I fitted on front PCV outlet (With a sight tube) and will fit another one (Without sight tube) within weeks on the rear
                        Quality can
Fit slightly below the exit connector of the front PCV outlet

Saikou Michi with 19mm outlets for the THP engine (If the link has disappeared)
