known symptoms of dv leak thp

hi id just like to find out does anyone know of to tell easily if your dv has a leak in it or not?
any help would be much apreaciated

Take it apart and inspect it

you'll see its most likely worn and mine had actually started to whistle slightly when i floored it. i knew i was then losing boost pressure.

Mine looked like this



Plastic had gone brittle and broke away easy, plus you can see the faded ring around where it has weakened

A replacement from the dealers will set you back £85.
You can get the same OEM part from BMW Mini £35

It's made by Pierburg and the OEM number was 11657593273.

I think the number has been superseded by 11658636606.

Thanks will have to have a look into it as have the same prob as av8tor 1990 but only seem sporadic but then no turbo at all occasionally

Nice tip on the bmw part no. Need to get myself a stock valve for when the peugeot goes. Will have a forge valve for sale at some point [emoji3]

Where abouts is the Diverter valve situated on the engine?, behind the engine bulkhead side or mechanics dream on the front?

I collect my THP ds3 Friday so haven't yet looked lol

Even fitting Forge replacement is pretty straightforward.

I had this a couple weeks back- then prodded and poked around the connections to the turbo- and it came back again
Keep thinking it goes again, but when get Torque pro on the case, confirms the Turbo is working
Just getting used to the Turbo i spose.... need a faster car
