THP Tunning parts

I am a new member from Cyprus but I also own a lovely ds3 1.6 THP

I've been to a european car tunning specialist shop and they gave me a list of available parts that can be fitted to my car and i thought of sharing them here to hear your opinions as well.

1. Aluminium blow off valve--> they told me that the PSA engines come out of the factory with a plastic pulley inside the valve and it breaks very easy ..this has an effect of loss of power and the turbo not running properly. They also told me there is a much better one with an aluminium pulley that replaces the existing one.

2. Bigger intercooler, as the ds3 thp comes with a small intercooler, this might not affect you in the UK too much but here in Cyprus that in our summer we have a blazing hot summer is an issue.

3. Downpipe and racing catalyst. This would replace the half-exhaust giving the car more torque and hp.

4. Bigger turbo

5. Tunning programme--this will lift power to 192bhp and 240 torque, i have a few doubts though as the tunning will be made direct to the car's eCu and not using an external device such as e-manage etc.

6. Backbox exhaust system

7. Racing Bosch spark plugs

Aftermarket BOV's are the nuts in my eyes, some people see them as chavvy but there's nothing like releasing your accelerator and hearing the whistle from the dumped air.

Something I'll be looking to do further down the line. Luckily there's quite a few places over here who tend to know what they're doing when it comes to exhaust customisation.

Check the banner at the top of the page. Quite a few people on here have had remaps done by Dave@Flash along with other Viezu dealers and in my eyes it's the easiest mod to make with the biggest performance gains. Definitely something you should look at if you're serious about getting everything from your engine.

6. Backbox exhaust system
To be honest, you're not going to see massive gains with this but it certainly gives the car a more grumpy sound

7. Racing Bosch spark plugs
Same again, you're not going to see massive gains from this alone but it's certainly something worthwhile changing if you're serious.
