  • Philips WhiteVision lights.

So one of my dipped beam bulbs died a few days ago and I decided to give Philips WhiteVision bulbs a go. I've used their X-treme Power ones before and they we're definitely better than standard but the WhiteVision ones are advertised as whiter so I went for them.

Took a few comparison shots with the new bulbs on the right and original on the left. Since fitting them I've spotted that the old main beams were actually the X-treme Power ones. I have Osram Diadem indicators which are tinted blue but still flash orange.

    Sidelights:

    Dipped beam:

    Main beam:

    Both sides fitted:

Really happy with them. The car's filthy too so the lights don't look as good as they could. Both the H7 and H1 bulbs I got came with a pair of W5W sidelights in the packs too. I'd bought some sidelights separately which I'll probably send back but I think that's pretty good value. £29.95 for the H7s, £26.45 for the H1s and £14.95 for the W5Ws. Got a discount code on Powerbulbs.com which knocked £14.27 off. £57.08 for the full set. I'd definitely recommend them.

I use these as well, love them . I've had them in since the beginning of November and they were great in the winter weather.

I took a video at the time to show what they're like.

Been put off the Osram Nightbreakers, as they don't last very long, might give these a try as they do look good.
          Guessing these are the ones?

Yeah those are the ones. I refuse to buy anything off Amazon though, unless I can't find it anywhere else at all.

The Nightbreaker Unlimited's (new version I think) are awful, mine lasted less then 3m over the winter whereas the previous sets of Nightbreaker Plus lasted around 18m !

What do we think is the absolute best bulbs in terms of visibility? I thought mine seemed particularly dim/underpowered tonight... are DS3s known for having not the best lights? I have a 50m commute (often still in the dark) on the motorway so good lights are key. Any thoughts welcome! I'll check out the ones mentioned above.

The white vision look great! Was deciding which set to get and think you have convinced me. Cheers

You're welcome. I know it's hard to tell what any bulbs are like just by reading about them and trying to imagine what the colour temp actually looks like.

I'd say they're a bit brighter than standard but they're a lot whiter. The headlights, in general, were better on my previous C2. I don't think the DS3's are the best but these bulbs improve it.

The comparison pics show a big difference. I don't do a great deal of night driving but really wanted to get rid of the yellow of the standard ones.

Found a dipped and side lights set on sale, so they're already on their way!

The Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited I use now and the Phillips Xtreme Vision I used in my "old" 2013 C3 make and made a much brighter light than the old original Citroen Bulbs (H1 and H7). But the Xtreme Vision only last 3.5 Months, the Nightbreaker last until today 9 months. So I think it's luck how long the bulbs last

I hate driving at night so I need something a bit better than the standard bulbs, I put Osram Nightbreakers in my Mini but didn't think they were great. Do those Phillips ones have a long life? I do a lot of driving so I don't want something I'm going to keep having to replace
