  • Citroen Racing Sunstrip / Sunshade

So in my internet travels I came across this Sunstrip and thought it looked neat.

Unfortunately they quote almost 50 euros for shipping to Australia, so looks like it is not an option for me. Not to mention would be highly illegal here haha

I just thought I would share it around, it might be more plausible for some of you guys.

Unrelated question: Shouldn't it be "DS racing" now that DS is a brand on it's own? After all there is no Nismo Infinity or RenaultSport Dacia out there. That would just be weird..

Nope, the DS3 WRC and Rallye Cars are still supervised by Citroen Racing because they are the experts

CPDS3 just ask your local car wrapper, they can also make you a Sunstrip like this

Why is a sun strip "highly illegal" ?

Isn't there some rule here to do with nothing being allowed to be in the path of window wipers? Something daft like that.

I know there is for chips and cracks in the windscreen for the MOT but not anything else as far as i am aware

I believe anything that obstructs the view in the area swept by the wipers would result in a MOT fail in the UK. This would include something like a sun visor that won't stay in the up position so would probably include a sunstrip as well.

                  100% right.

Aside from them being illegal, I don't like them anyway. They're more so associated with 'boy racers' and can make a car look really tacky/chavvy imo

Think that some can look Chav- but some look pretty good.
And obviously they do cut off that top part of the windscreen, where if the sun is low in the sky, can be a real benefit when driving.
Sun visors only cut the sun out partially

There was one Cyclone (I think) posted up 6 months back that looked real good- but the place in France wanted bout £15 postage on top of the £15 price
Too much for a strip of vinyl

As far as I've heard it's only if the wipers touch it. There is a get around though, buy smaller wipers.
