  • Some advice needed please :)

Hello Im new to the group, been browsing for ages, finally had the courage to post something! I have a citreon ds3 2013 dsport 110 hdi.
    1) I am planning on upgrading the exhaust system, however being a student i don't have the money for a full exhaust system upgrade, just wondered whether anyone has had an upgraded back box as opposed to the full system, can you hear a difference in sound?

I am also considering getting a remap, HIDs and change the alloys.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Tom

Definitely go for the remap. (Jamie is our remap god at SP Tuning). Wouldn't bother with HIDs as they can make the car fail MOTs as laws are getting tougher. IMO putting a back box on seems a waste of money. You'd probably just be worth saving for an exhaust system.

If you're wanting new alloys it's a good idea to know the standard fitment of your stock alloys (I'm assuming you have Bellones which are 17" diameter, 25 offset (aka 25et), 7 inches wide (aka 7J) and centre bore is 65.1mm. Stud pattern is 4x108.

Always make sure you know the centre bore as if it is larger than 65.1mm, (say 75.1mm), then you need to buy spigot rings which allow a snug fitment of the alloy wheel onto the hub on the car and they reduce vibration which can become dangerous if the centre bore on the alloy is larger than the hubs centre bore. (Spigot rings are easily available on eBay)

Further more if the offset is higher than 25et, ( say 35et) then you'll need to buy 10mm spacers to get the offset to 25et.

Hopefully you can understand all this jargon

Hope this helps you a little bit
