  • Will I gain anything from an induction kit???

I have a dsport 1.6 HDI 110 diesel and I am wondering if i will gain anything by fitting an induction kit.
Basically I am looking for a few extra hp or even better sound from the engine.
My friends are telling me to fit one and this is why I am here, they have petrol cars and they do sound a whole lot better.
Will it make any difference that mine is a diesel?
Also will it affect my mpg and fuel usage ?
I have looked into making my own using viper performance hoses andd piping. It should be pretty simple but wouldn't know what to do with the sensors etc.

    All comments welcome thanks.

If you can wait a couple of weeks we should have the final version of Torque7's GSR kit available to purchase.

Anyone looking to buy an induction kit for performance is looking for disappointment. Modern intake systems cheap plastic and all just flow very well and unless you do other MAJOR mods anything you feel will be in your head. Now for looks and sound that is where the real gains are at

A bit of noise- power wise, NO.

You will get extra noise (not sure if that's a good thing on a HDi though). As had been said, power wise you won't get much, if anything.

I think you should wait and get the GSR. Gains have already been proven and it's not yet finished. Plus looks amazing.
