  • DS3 Polybushes

    Hi

Been a while since last posted, lost interest a bit and wedding is absorbing all the extra money i wouldve had for car but basically wondering were can i get polybushes? I see the rear engine mount but thats it, i was going to lower car and wanted to do bushes while it was getting done? Also does anyone know what exhaust mounts or how many i need as not alot of info online or im being stupid lol!

    Thanks

I don't recall anyone doing this before. Have you tried auto factors and the like already ?

Might want to take a hard look at parts interchangeability between the DS3 and other PSA products. I guarantee you that the bushings are used in other cars as well which may be supported better by performance parts manufactures. Aftermarket/Performance parts makers do not normally look at that stuff to list every car there product will fit.

Sorry to be stupid but is there anywhere this information would be easy to access or just a matter of trawling the web and trying to find it?

Asked in 2 autopart stores and both told me car is too new basically.

Ive found universal antiroll bar bushes but they come from 19mm to 24mm

What sort of benefits do these polybushes, or engine mounts actually have over OEM?

I think they're more hard wearing and stiffer than OEM ones Chris, that said I'm not sure what performance benefits they give for the engine as an e.g.

They don't really have any performance upgrade but handling upgrade is a lot better. They last a lot longer and stiffen up the car so it is all one instead of bouncing around.
When car is on standard suspension it wont bring much of a difference, well not that you would feel just be longer lasting.

Seems a lot of hassle for a firmer ride. Suppose realistically you would only change when the original mounts fail- is it hard to swap them out
My motor is firm enough as it is, (Lowered 30mm) so many bleeding potholes, ruts, speed bumps and just about everything else

Is it not a bouncy ride for yourself or how does it perform in corners, i find it helps firm it up so when driving it hard it sticks better on the road instead of throwing you around.

                      LOL. No- not bouncy now.
It was before I was lowered, but that was the shock absorbers and springs that made it bouncy

Cant see how engine mounts would affect suspension when cornering, but am open to learning.

Stick a couple bags of cement in your boot and see if that helps

Engine mount wont, thats the only one i can find currently.

I wanted bumpstops, anti roll bar bushes, exhaust bushes and think theres top mount bushes

You want the lower engine mount. You know that feeling like axle hop that occurs when you really get on it? The mount insert will stop that. Upper engine mounts if you start making big power, Bumpstops no your coilers will come with them and you should be running coil overs, roll bar bushings yes, exhaust no, lower control arm bushings yes(think spoox motorsport has some for the 207 might work) solid top mount yes but do not think you will find any. steering rack bushings would be good too.
