Replacement Wheel Questions.

Ok, so I'm thinking of treating myself to a new set of alloys for my DS3 Sport, id love a set of Racing wheels but refuse to stump up the £2k Citroen want so am looking at alternate 18" rims. However this itself throws up several questions that (judging by other posts) confuse 99% of us on here, that being offsets, spacers, shims and other such black arts.

So rather than spend another evening of trawling through the tinterweb I thought id ask a bit of advice on here.

1 Recommended Suppliers - Personal recommendations please, rather than what you have read. Ideally in the South of England but if they deliver for a reasonable rate then nationwide.

2 Recommended Brands - Again I'm looking at quality rather than who likes what style etc.

Another point, if I went from my standard wheels and tyres (205/45/R17) to a Racing sized set (215/40/R18), would the overall diameter be the same? I would like to fill those humongous arches so would I need to use 215/45/R18 to increase the overall diameter, if so would this cause any issues other than a slightly incorrect speedometer reading.

I had a look on the Rimstyle.com site and they include the 20mm Hub-Centric Spacer specific for the DS3 (18 x 8.0" 4 x 108 (X-Drilled) ET40).

2. Recommended Brands: My all time favorite is OZ: good quality, lightweight and reasonably priced. Also a good Brand is Team Dynamics, they are like the british equivalent to OZ

The right size of the tyres would be 215/35 R18 (rolling circumference -1.4%) or 205/40 R18 (rolling circumference +0.8%). The Racing sized tyres are to big, you would drive 62mph when your speedo says 60,8 mph

And for Imola you need this, because the have an Offset of +35, but you need +25 or less and the Imolas are for Fords, so you need the Hub Centric adapter too

The Team Dynamic Imolas ive linked too say they would fit a DS and DS Racing, they come with the necessary spacers (18 x 8.0" 4 x 108 (X-Drilled) ET40 Includes 20mm Hub-Centric Spacer).
An actual 62mph with an indicated 60.8mph is fine as my speedo reads 3mph under anyway (measured by GPS).

So Would 215/40/R18 on an 18" Wheel have the same overall diameter as a 205/45/R17 on a 17" wheel?

The diameter of the 215/40 R18 tyres are 1,3cm greater than the original 205/45 R17 ones

The bottom ones will fit spot on
I'm running 8.5 j x18
And have 225/30/18 tyres they are the closet percentage wise To 205/45/17 at 0.1%
At 70 mph speedo will be running at 70.01 mph [emoji106][emoji106]

So 225's fit ok (on 18" rims) then? No rubbing at full lock.

So I'm assuming 225/35/18 will be ok? I'm thinking a 40 as it will fill the wheel arch a little more plus some of the roads I use are a little bumpy so 35's might be a little less forgiving.

No scrubbing at all I'm running225/ 30 /18 on coilovers ride is actually really good

Nice, I think il go with 35 or 40, just to take the edge off any potholes and fill the arches

Yeah will fill the arches better but will put the speedo out slightly out of interest. The racing has 18's. On and uses 215/40/18 . and yeah with only 30mm off side wall you have to be on pothole watch
