  • LED Headlights/Sidelights DONE

    Bought these of amazon,
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for 40 quid.

Fitted them today and to be honest I'm amazed at the difference! The light ouput is astonishing, better than a set of HIDs I had on the beetle.

Yeah to be honest I had a mate check the light pattern quickly last night and there was no massive difference, also I've got stop start and there was always a flicker from the surge when the engine kicked in/out but there is nothing with these at all.

Tempted to get the fly eye kit on them now.

What have you got as your high beam bulbs?

At the minute they're standard but as soon a Xmas is over I will replace them with the same, I've just changed the indicators to philips silver bulbs too. The awkward ones are the fog lights, standard led bulbs are not cheap replacements for them.

Thinking about getting a set of these are they really as good as hids and is it simple as changing a bulb no ballasts or kits like hids thanks

Yeah its so easy, literally remove dust cap, remove old bulb out new bulb in. If you change the main beams you need to removes the negative from the bulb cage as I thought they had sent me the wrong kit! You will need your headlights adjusted though as they do aim slightly too high, you can get away with using the adjustment on the steering column but I don't think it will pass an MOT with it. They have made a massive difference though and I've changed both sets dipped and main, driving down country lanes is like driving in daytime now! The throw distance on them is amazing, they light up road signs from miles away, before I can even make out what they say!

Awesome! You haven't got any pictures have you? Would be good to see what they're like.

Also did you get anywhere with your fog lights?

No I've not done fog lights yet hopefully after next month once pay day has been! I've got some photos but they're on the work phone, I'll try and add them later

You will understand when you change the bulb! There is on cable that goes into the back of the bulb which is the positive feed and it uses the bulb metal case as the negative which is connected on the cage the bulb fits into
