Does any one know if it it possible to put the 6 speed diesel manual gearbox in to replace the 5 speed manual?

    Possible? Yes.
    Useful? No. If you want a 6-speed, buy a HDI110/120 or a THP130/155/200

      So its a straight swap?

I won't buy a petrol, shit on fuel! Rather have the torque... and excluding the gearbox why pay more when your going to be changing the injectors and turbo anyway (that's the only difference between the 90 and 110)

I saw a swap at etuners.gr for the 207 RC from 5-speed to 6-speed. But sadly they launched a new site and some files are missing :/
But why not modify your 5-speed to be awesome?

Not really awesome though is it, just a gimic really.

I want the ratio from the 6th gear.

In regards to gimic, if I could be arsed I'd go full sequential C/O Quaif but that doesn't really interest me. Well it does massively but funds and practicality

And I can say you do not need other gear ratios, because you achieve max speed (in a DS3 Racing) in 5th Gear. The 6th is just to save fuel, not more (And I know both gearboxes. First I had a C3 eHDI 90, now I have a DS3 THP)

CAE shifter is the best period They are a oh my god this is GOOD experience. Positive engagement oh yah, slop what bloody slop. Do have to shift it like you mean it every time so not for the lazy. Bit overkill and expensive for a daily driver I would think

How do people rate the short shifter as seen previously on the group buy,if there is an obvious improvement I would consider it!

As the first post says, i want the box from a 6 speed Diesel i have seen the ratios for it and know that 6th will produce a decent top end.
And if the DS3 Racing has the MCM/B then you are wrong, top speed will be in 6th. it may not be on a standard ds3 Racing but after a remap and the torque limiters are raised in 6th...

Have you drove a car with a Quaife Sequential? I'm guessing by you saying the CAE is the best that you havent.

One is a transmission and the other is shifter mechanism for a normal transmission. So it is also obvious you not as smart as you think.

How much HP do you want to achieve with your Diesel? 200+ from the small 1.6 HDI?

But if you were going to spend a grand on a cae system (over £100 for a short shifter) then you may as well spend about 2-3k for a quaife was my point.

But it's nice to know you think i'm smart

Not chasing hp, it's a diesel. 320-350ftlb would be ideal, in saying that not chasing numbers as not a dyno queen...

                        Edit: (Massive rant below)

and before you come back with "well the box is only rated to 270nm" i know. stepping stones, as in take it to its maximum then when it cant go any further replace it with something stronger.

Why is it so fucking difficult to ask a question and get a strait forward response on forums?! i asked can you put the diesel 6 speed box in replacement for the 5 speed? a simple fucking question!!!!! i do not give a fuck about your opinion or the fact your trying to second guess me. if your not going to be helpful just shut the fuck up, go and increase your post count on a different thread.

At the end of the day many owners like to make modifications to their vehicles, some cheap and simple and some can be costly and complex,on forums we can ask for guidance and then decide to make a modification,we can also ask our mechanic at our local garage and again they can offer advice which can inform our decision.I think our forum is here to offer help for the good of all DS3 owners,we don`t ever need to get angry on forums,it`s just an angle on a piece of kit, right or wrong we are not all experts, but we do like to have a chat about our DS3s! Keep Smiling Guys.

I know exactly what you mean, the target demographic is for people who are likely to make minor mods if that. totally accept that.
But when a simple straight forward question is asked an then none of the posts that follow answer the question it's a bit tedious.

I should have put (massive rant below, read at your own peril)
