    Is it worth it?

I think they look quite good and they are fully reflective, but the law doesn't seem to be very clear on them (although I appreciate I'd be more likely to get pulled)

    I'm just very unsure...

My thoughts exactly. In for a penny in for a pound. But I've never been pulled for spacing, I sort of hope it's because the police think it's a waste of time, but maybe not if there's two offences? Or is it still just one I wonder?

I'd imagine they're the same offence, trying to make it unreadable to cameras? But ahh well xD

Never had an issue with cameras like anyway. Anpr cameras in car parks always read it perfectly.

I imagine tints are fine so long as the plates can be read by the cameras, kinda the same as having a light film of dirt over them.
Although as mentioned above, the spacing of the last letter is illegal so you may get pulled for that eventually

I got pulled over of the constabulary at 2 in the morning coming back from the casino just doing his checks etc and he did mention my plate spacing but he said it's really down to the copper , so I nodded him farewell and was on my way :lemon:

Officer: "Do you know why Ive stopped you Sir?"

                Me:" Speeding I suppose"

About 90mph over took him, saw him pull out very quick behind me, and I slowed pronto

Officer (Big smile) " No Sir... its the registration plate... illegally spaced"

They hadn't had chance to follow me long enough to get a speed reading, so gave me an £80 fine and warning if I got stopped again they may confiscate the plate. Carried on using it after returning it to standard for about 3 weeks, then sold it.

Their final word "Nice car though" (They were in an R32- about 3 year ago in my DS3)

Yeah I've heard a fair few police saying it's one of those offences that will come down to the mood of the copper, the amount of paperwork doesn't justify the offence sort of thing. Which makes me think if I have more than 1 issue with my car then I'll be much more likely to get pulled.

Yeah I think that's probably why it's such a grey area. I'll see how I get on

The only time I've been pulled over it was for doing 40 in a 30 (alongside other traffic). He gave me a lecture about setting an example and not speeding in front of a marked police car (who was driving at the same speed) then said he had no camera/radar gear to prove my speed so couldn't give me a ticket. He didn't even mention my plates which were illegally spaced as above (not tinted).
