  • Interior light removal

Hi all. I'very got led bulbs ready for replacing the halogen ones in the interior light but I've tried prising it off and it won't budge, not without good force anyway and Imy afraid of cracking or breaking the fitting. Any suggestion's of an easier way to do this?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UPTO-10X-T...-pI8EpdGMESWuA

Also I've fitted these into my sidelights but they won't fit properly into the boot light because of the end being to fat. Would there be a way to stretch the holder to slot these in? I just don't want to spend more money when I've got them here. I'm thinking thathat these bulbs won't fit into the licence plate lights either but I have not tried yet.

Pictures, diagrams or videos would be more useful, the other threads which have pictures don't work any more.
    Thanks.

    Welcome

Yeah, we lost a load of attachments when a person was deleted rather than a thread -_-

    Should come away quite easily?

Very carefully put a thin knife blade or similar on one of the short side of the plastic lense, bend slightly.

Easy to remove light unit. You can remove light as a complete unit by carefully levering out of headlining,if I remember you lever out from front of light unit as the back is hooked under headlining .once removed you unclip plastic outer cover.also the outer plastic cover can be removed with light unit still in headlining by carefully using small blunt tool to lever off outer cover from main unit.

      The holder in the boot?
I've read into the threads but can't really relate without any diagrams, it's not that I'm retarded I just need to know what I'm doing right and wrong and would like guidance. As for the boot light, it comes out like a casing around the boot, I've took that off but then the bulb is held in by metal and the led bulb won't fit into it

Would it be possible for a link to them on eBay?

I bought mine at Benzinfabrik.de [Link], but I think ebay LEDs will do just fine. Just buy the slim LEDs for the trunk, footwell and glove compartment (like this: eBay Link) and round ones for the reading lights (like this: eBay Link)

              I've fitted one of these:

              http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501...edge-Bulb.html

              to my boot light.

I had to leave it a couple of mm from fully home to prevent the metal parts on the bulb shorting out on the bulb holder, but it's far enough in to allow the light to fit into the holder.

Wow, now I know that my set was not that expensive (and it fits perfectly)...

Shiro, I'm wanting blue led''s under the footwell. Would they look good over the orange lenses?

                    I bought white lenses
7 Pounds for two trunk lights from the dealer (part number: 6362 N6) which fits perfectly at the footwell

Maybe I'm prising the whole fitting? Is there 2 parts of the interior light?

This is how a normal interior light look like

interior light opened. Footwell light btw. doesn't have the grey plastic cover (right side of the picture)

The interior light shown in the pictures is btw. a hybrid. It's a trunk light with a red lense from the footwell light

Lever the whole reading light out of the roof, then open the light and you can change the W5W lamps
