  • Front trim removal

Hi can anyone tell me how easy is it to remove the chrome trim and grille on the front bumper as I'm thinking of painting it

  • #2
I think it would probably involve taking the bumper off. Never stripped a ds3 bumper but most cars have little tabs on the back of the grilles and trim that need to be pushed through from behind.
I painted the black bit the number plate sits on on mine the other day without taking it off, but if you plan on painting the chrome part I'd definitely take it off.
What are you planning on painting it with?

A lot of owners have used plasti-kote to paint the chrome sections at the front of the car. You need to mask off the surrounding areas but any overspray can be removed easily if you don't use the plasti-kote lacquer to make the finish permanent.

Have a search on the forum as from memory there were several user guides to this

I took mine off when I removed the bumper for wrapping. I took the the bumper off to do the evo style black wrap and removed all the chrome. It just I clips in from the back. Sprayed it all with CarDipUK(same as plastidip) then pushed back into place.
