  • Finally had my 1st mods but with hopefully a small issue...

Finally I have done my first mods on my thp
I went for a full de-cat exhaust and an ecu remap
I wanted my car to run as save as possible-I didn't want it to push it too much for power due to the high temperatures we have in my country during summer ..dust etc.
    Dyno results: 194bhp (engine)

however when I drove back home from my tuning shop I noticed that the aircondition of my car wasn't working. When I was pressing the a/c switch I didn't hear the familiar sound of the aircon turning on...at first I thought it was the aircondition gas (needing a refill) so I went to a car aircondition shop but the level of the gas in the aircondition was 3/4 and so an aircon refill was not the problem

I gave a call to my mechanic (he is an authorized citroen service) and he told me that most possible its something with the new configuration of the engine management

Will visit him on Monday and I hope it can be solved with out having to delete the ecu remap

He has a good reputation for vw golfs and audi cars. He has done two Peugeot 207gt in the past
Jamie told me about another problem to look for and he was 100% correct ...when changing up a gear the revs of the car seem to 'hang' (don't drop)
My car went today to my local citroen mechanic hopefully to find out what parameters have been changed and to see if he can overwrite them so that my car runs as it supposed to run

Oh that's a shame, so the Citroen dealer will update the ECU to overwrite the map you paid for ?

Update: car is back from citroen service.clutch-throttle switch was disabled.,citroen michanic managed to fix it so the problem with revvs hanging on upshift and throtrle not going off completely is solved.aircon unit is ok aircon switch is sending the command to turn on the aircon but the ecu will no execute the command. Citroen michanic cannot do anything about it other than installing original citroen map to ecu.
Also after giving another call to the ecu tuner he toldme that his pc got infected with a lot of viruses and maybe that caused the programm to misread my car software. Will visit him again on thursday ..hopefully the virus on the pc caused all that peoblem

Sounds like bullshit to me and like he doesn't want to lose your business.

Good luck with the remap, it sounds like the guy knows his stuff.. Especially considering he's managed to infect a PC he uses for work with a Virus. If it was me, I wouldn't want anything like that near my car...

2nd Update: After having my car for a week at the tuner's shop I got it back today. the problem was due to a misreading of my original ecu file (have no idea how this happened)...the ecu remap is corrected and went back to my car. I didn't have the chance to drive it for long but during my 20 minutes of driving everything worked ok..(aircondition-revs etc.)
big applause to Jamie from spt tuning for his great knowledge and expertise as he was the first who pointed out that the problem was with the ecu remap and not any aircondition related problem.
also thank you Jamie for all our private messages and your great help even though I live no where near UK
Next on my list : intercooler-recirculation valve-spark plugs

I think it would've been easier (and definitely a more competent remap process) to drive over to see Jamie
