  • New DS3 owner w/ questions about fog lights, power steering and mapping

hi just got my ds3 this week
    1.2 82 puretech chic
1)i noticed it dosn't have the foglights just a cover and it dosn't look as good is there a way to install fog lights on the chic model?
    2) i noticed something about variable power steering, is this manual? can i change the weight of the steering
    3) is remapping a good idea? is there a particularly good way to do it? how much does it cost? what risks are invovled with it because im hoping to trade it back in, in a few years

    thanks for your help

Fog lights - my guess is you can install these after purchase but as is often the case the cost is probably large.

Steering - I've always assumed that variable power steering meant that it assisted more when parking or moving slowly and less at high speeds. As far as I know it's not something you can manually adjust to your particular preference

Remap - I've had mine done recently, I have the 115bhp diesel and Jamie at SP Tuning (forum member and all round DS3 God) has remapped it to 145bhp. The car is so much better to drive following the remap. Does your DS3 have a turbo ? If so you could call a local tuning place to you for details/costs and then google for reviews and ratings to ensure they're not cowboys. You do need to consider that if you take it to Citroen for services etc they may overwrite your remap with an ECU update. That's part of the reason I waited until the car was 3 years old so that any updates will hopefully have been added already during servicing. I now have a sign via the ECU port clearly stating I do not wish any updates to be applied to my ECU.

      1.) very pricy
      2.) nope, not adjustable
3.) Remap is a bad idea because you have no turbo. You drive the smallest engine possible in the DS3 which is N/A and a 3 cylinder. So there is no point to do a remap
