  • New front mount intercooler

My car is due for a new front mount single pass intercooler
I was wondering if I have to install back the factory intercooler fan? ( I think it will be no use since the new intercooler is front mounted)..also if I don't install back the intercooler fan will I have any check engine light going on or any other issue
    with the car?

The fan is only on the rad not the cooler
I make cars go quicker then take photos of them.

Cyclone is correct they do both have fans which is a bit worrying that an engineer(mechanic tuner) had not spotted when changing his own intercooler along with other posts that that have not seemed to make sense or been logical even to a novice such as myself [emoji1]

Well Markymark time to climb down from your high horse. You are wrong.

As i said i hadn't noticed one when swapping out the intercooler so i would check to make sure. Just been out to check and i was correct, there is only a fan on the rad (Radiator for the novice like yourself).

Obviously this is on the HDI not the THP so things may be different on the petrol front. I'd expect so as the turbo gets a good bit hotter so the intercooler would need to be cooler. Pretty sure that makes sense to people who have a clue what they are doing but i may be wrong.

Would have thought it was a generic intercooler fitted as standard including the fan not that the fan ever comes on lol

I do believe its the same intercooler across all models, like i say though there's no fan there so the fan must just be fitted to the THP.

Think you should climb down off your high horse and the smug attitude Mr. novice and people who have a clue. Simply because the THP has it and Diesel does not does not make you right or us wrong we are all wrong and right!

Be interested to see the performance difference of a FMIC on a THP when a remap is in place
Have heard varying levels of increase from 2-3 bhp to 10-12 bhp

Think the remap has to be tweaked to get best increase

Agree Chris,I would like to try the Red Remap on my car now by Quantum Tuning as it is local to me.
