  • Window tinting

Does anyone know what the tint percentage is on the DS3 back windows? Also, does anyone have the windscreen, front sides and rear tinted and if so to what percentage? Would be good to see some pics

I can't answer the % of tint to the factory stock glass to the rear side windows, that said, what I can tell you is, that for vehicles registered from April 1985 onwards, the front windscreen must pass a minimum of 75% light and the front side windows a minimum of 70% light.

Yea i know that, but I want it to match the standard tint of the Dsport Plus on the back windows otherwise im worried it will look odd.

Interested to see peoples pics of their tinting together with the %

Wow thats dark! I may take my down my local shop to see if they can tell me what the stock tinting is on the back passenger windowns and then get the rest tinted as close to it as possible, staying on the right side of the law of course!

Been quoted £160 to tint the two front side windows and the boot, seems a bit steep to me?

I've seen much higher quotes, as always it depends on whether you think it's worth it !

I cant see the tint costing more than £30-40 so thats an awful lot on labour!

Also they said the dont tint windscreens which is disappointing

Why would you want to tint the windscreen?

You cannot tint the windscreen at all, 100% illegal, im sure the passenger and drivers door windows need to allow 70% of ambient light through, and the rear quarters and rear window you can do whatever you want. Will fail an MOT if the fella testing thinks the front sides are too dark, a good tip is to lower both front windows fully and pop the fuse out, so they dont work. If thats your bag.

Why not? Legally you can go up to a 25% tint.

Wrong, the windscreen needs to let through 75% of light, the sides are 70%

Yeah I know it's legal, but I don't understand the appeal of tinting the windscreen. Why do you want to make it harder for you to drive in the dark?
