Seats seats and seats!!!

Hi,

I recently had an electronic forward/backward seat slider fitted to my drivers side. I didn't do the work myself!
In the process I bought two bad boy 6 reclining bucket seats. As you all maybe aware the standard for seats come with side air bags and seatbelt pre tension sensors.
On the drivers side this has been bypassed so both of them don't register as a fault. I have no idea where to get the device they used and they are very reluctant to give any information on the subject.
So..... What am asking is does anyone know where I can purchase this device for the passenger side? As of now the passenger airbag is turnt off which am not too sure about if for any reason I should be involved in an accident and have a passenger..... Do I need to go on?

Any info would be greatly appreciated on this subject also I apologies if this question has already been asked.

Probably all they did was put a resistor in to simulate the airbag. I would get a variable resistor and hook it up to the cars wiring and then turn it up till the airbag light goes off. Then measure the resistor to see how much that was and wire an appropriate resistor to the cars wiring. Although you could just leave the variable one in but that is not what I would do because I am me and that's how I am. To be safe do not measure the airbag itself Explosive! Danger to Life and all that.

Thanks for your help!! Of course I understand the dangers with theses bags. I know of one guy who broke his neck with one didn't follow safety protocols at work, bang, exploded no more guy.

Now I haven't done this on a DS3 specifically but have done it to many other PSA group cars, I also suggest you don't do this mod as a cheap repair to extinguish an actual airbag fault light.
As cyclone said....I use 2 ohm 0.25watt resistor, simply bridged across the airbag multi plug and then wrapped with insulation tape. To be sure you have the correct resistance you can always measure the resistance the of the component you want to disconnect and just replicate your reading. Do not measure the component whilst connected to the system or apply any voltage unless you want your face peeled!!!!!!!!!!!

As implied in Jamie's post, if you're doing any work on the airbag system it's a good idea to disconnect the battery & leave it for a while - the experts recommend 30 minutes, I think!

These can go bang even with the power disconnected, ive had it happen, yes there was a significant amount of external air pressure travelling through the vehicle at the time in the form of an IED

Some air bag components have trigger mechanism built in, usually has a key which you turn to deactivate.
