  • Mini cooper r56 /works turbo help

I found a good offer for two used turbo kits..,the one is the standard r56 cooper s turbo and the other one is the works turbo.
Can they fit direct to our thp engine with out having to change anything else (direct bolton)? If anyone knows can the thp manifold and inlet pipes fit to the cooper s turbo? Is there anything else that needs to be changed/modified to fit the turbo kit?

The turbo itself will bolt right up no issues there, The pressurized air outlet is different, bigger diameter and pointing in diff direction. Will have to fabricate some new piping, and the air inlet flange I think is also be bigger. Not sure on that though.

The turbo itself is a straight swap, but you need a new piping for the intercooler
But I don't think the normal Cooper S turbo would be a good upgrade, because it's not much bigger than the original one (comparable to a DS3 Racing Turbo)

Turbo from a JCW. The Cooper S Turbo is just a bit smaller.

Yes if you can find one at a reasonable price
The cooper s turbo will not give around 15+bhp gain?

Will not help either, because the RCZ has the same direction as the Cooper S/ JCW one

@Eagle: Don't know if it's worth the money. You could also buy the Frankenturbo F21P for 1000$ Brandnew...

Roger all that but for anybody going to the bother of fabricating a new pipe, it might be a better deal looking for an RTZ turbo £s per BHP.

The best deal without bothering about fabricating is the Turbo from the 208 GTi

Depends on what supportive mods do you have (Metal Catalyst, Exhaust, Intercooler, etc.)
But I think 240-250 HP would be possible.

Ask Jamie. He bought one and uses him in his DS3
