Any reviews opinions on the pedalbox device?
Its not a power gain mod it just makes throttle repsonse much better for low rpm accelaration

Is it possible to damage the throttle body / messup the ecu?

Think it comes down to personal taste. Know people that like it and others that find it makes the car feel jumpy and hard to drive smooth.

Do not believe it could hurt anything, nor have I heard of any damages occurring, as it is not really changing anything but the rate that the signal is applied to the throttle body.
