  • Air Filter

    Hi all,

I'm sure this question has been asked many-a-time before but having a search through the forum I can't find a definite answer.

I'm looking at changing the OEM air filter to this one - http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/pr...x?prod=33-2975 as I've heard good things about the panel filters from K&N.

I'm running the 1.2 110 S/S PureTech petrol engine. Can anyone confirm if I'll get any benefit from changing the air filter whether it be performance or noise (obviously not much can change on either from a filter but anything is better than nothing at 18).

Also, a recommendation of where to buy it? K&N are cheaper direct than Demon Tweeks for example but they list Halfrauds and Euro Car parts as dealers yet neither website shows having any air filters in stock for my reg '66. Ideally I'd like to have it in place before the Boosted meet next weekend.

    Thanks in advance,

    ST

Will definitely be louder - more induction hiss, and you might notice a bit more pull and smoother acceleration.

I'd get it direct if it's cheaper there. No point trying to faff with their dealers, they'd probably need to order it in specially.

Just to double check, is it gonna fit?!

Just tried it in Amazon and got the warning in the pic:

I see all the places that offer Air Filters don't mention anything to do with the new model/engine

For me it seems as you need a K&N 33-3039

        http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?id=6267

It seems as the different engines need different filters. Even the 82 Puretech engine is listet with a different filter as your 110 Puretech.

Take the stock filter out and measure it, check it matches.

Cheers. That looks the most promising of the lot in terms of compatibility. Seeing as I'm working from home over Easter I'll have a look this weekend to make sure.

So silly me didn't realise the K&N Website has the application details on the filter spec.

Turns out neither of the ones I thought I needed were the right ones...

Have a look at ramair, they do a nice induction kit for the 110 puretech
